Having paperwork scattered around your office is not a nice sight to see. The Army has continued to develop in terms of technology and other sectors as well. One of the services is iPERMS, because iPERMS personnel can store their documents in the Army network where it is organized and safe. Before doing an iPERMS Army login, here is a brief explanation of iPERMS.

iPERMS Army Login CAC & AKO

What is iPERMS?

iPERMS is an acronym for Interactive Personnel Records Management System, an online information system/document database to store and manage military personnel records used by the Army. The service helps to eliminate or reduce unit-level stockpile paperwork, while also giving them the flexibility of accessing your personal Army files on any computer (preferably government based). The iPERMS minimizes the possibility of losing documents because of offline storage.

How to Get iPERMS Access

To obtain access to iPERMS, there are steps that you need to do:

  1. Complete DD Form 2875 and submit it to [email protected]. Here is a sample.
  2. Complete all requirements mentioned on the DD Form 2875.
  3. Any changes of unit assignments, scopes, or duties require you to submit a new DD Form 2875.
  4. In order to keep your access, you need to login to https://iperms.hrc.army.mil/rms every 90 days at the very least. Loss of access will require you to resubmit the DD Form 2875 again. A blank DD Form 2875 can be found here.
  5. Allow 5 business days to process the access requests. If not given, you can call 502-613-9990 for support.

How to Login to iPERMS

Once you are confirmed to gain access to iPERMS, you will need to have your CAC and/or AKO account ready. Once you have them ready, follow these steps to do an iPERMS Army login:

  1. Have your CAC and CAC reader ready.
  2. Plug in your CAC before accessing the ALMS website.
  3. Configure your computer web browser to make it work with a government-based website, you can view the full tutorial here.
  4. Go to https://www.hrc.army.mil/.
  5. You can choose whether you want to log in using CAC or AKO. If you want to use your AKO account, enter the information needed at the HRC (Human Resource Command) login page.
  6. Once you successfully log in, click on the “Reserve/Retiree/Veteran Record” menu and select “Documents”.

That concludes the iPERMS Army login article. Having your Army personal records stored in a safe Army network where you can access it anytime is certainly a great thing to have. However, that does not mean that you can neglect your physical documents. Always keep in mind to store important documents where it is safe and easy to manage because both online and offline documents are equally important.
