What is GCSS Army?
GCSS Army is an acronym for Global Combat Support System, an automated web program that has two components. The first one is the GCSS-ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), which functions as primary tactical logistics supporting the Army and sustaining joint transformation. It is designed to re-engineer current business processes by achieving an end-to-end logistics integration with joint systems and applicable C2 (Command and Control).
The second component is AESIP (Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program), which provides single-source enterprise hub services, business intelligence, and master data to integrate Army business functions.
Benefits and Specifications
As a Soldier, the GCSS-Army will be responsive to the Soldiers’ need for support at the right time and place to improve the commander’s awareness of the situation with responsive and accurate information. The specifications of GCSS-Army are as follows:
- In tactical units, replaces five Standard Army Management Information Systems logistics and will establish integration with joint systems and applicable C2 interface.
- Functions as a primary enabler to enhance the Army’s vision with advanced ERP technology that can manage the flow of information, resources, and logistics to meet the Army’s requirements.
- AESIP provides a single source of enterprise hub services, centralized master data management, analytics, and business intelligence that integrates with the Army’s business functions across business domains.
GCSS Army Training?
The GCSS Army provides a training program, and the name is GTRAC. It will familiarize the student with the system. GTRAC will allow the students to complete the training online, self-register, and receive a certificate of completion. To register, you can click on http://www.gcss.army.mil/gtrac/. You will need a CAC (Common Access Card) or a PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) to access it. Keep in mind that the CAC is the primary hardware you will use to access and identify yourself in the Army.
